I hope this gets not boring. This is the work of the last three days.

Lighthouses

You wink at me

You wink at me all the time

I can see you

You are heaven

I am hell

And so am I

„Heaven“ is a lighthouse on land, „hell“ one in the sea.

It still feels strange to write in English. But, I like it. It’s so different from writing in German. And I know, I would not like the translation. ;)

A new Mini Book is born

It all started with a sun and a moon. Whenever I start a new mini book, I am thinking: ok, let's see where this leads to. Because I have no idea. I just let the images find me.
And they are good players, they always do. :)

Collage Box Nr. 4

Get the chance to be a part of the new „Collage box“ experience!


Because the second collage box has vanished without a trace somewhere in the UK, I decided to start a new one in October.
It’s for all those who have been in the Collage Box #2 Project and for those, who have not been in any Collage Box Project so far.
Please do NOT sign up, if you have been into this project before (if you have signed in for #1 or #3).

What is the collage box?
It’s a box with 144 (12x12) snippets, cuttings and scraps for collage making, sent out by me, travelling all around the world. If it arrives at your home, you will take 12 items out of the box and put 12 from your stuff in again and send it on to the next one on the list.

It's always interesting to see what photos other people like. This is the "Top 5" of my Flickr pictures.

The vintage things are on the first place. This is what becomes of paper swap sometimes, little still lifes on my shelf.

Which one do you like best?

Work and work material

It 's the first time I am making a mini collage book ordered by a friend for another friend.

It will be a gift for a very strong and special woman. It's a lot of work, but it's great fun.
I will give my very best. Will finish it tomorrow and show it, as soon as the gift has arrived.

I love such finds.

Happy memories of a bluestocking (in the making)

I have got this photoalbum from 1919. Three women with male names make me want to bring them into my collages.


It's Jack's turn now. I found she had the perfect look of a "bluestocking", I don't know if this word is still in use. In Germany it's just the same "Blaustrumpf", an educated woman, a woman who puts learning and knowlegde first.

Based on vintage school books (always a good grounding) the book develops itself. The title came very immediately, when I looked at Jack's picture for a while.
So I was working my way up. No real intentions, only going with the flow.

The sepia ink is such a nice thing to work with.

It's a rainy day and it's nice to stay inside, listen to good music and just puzzle around with the scraps and cuttings.

The first two (double)pages are nearly done.

Miss Leah Jodd's companion

This is another Etsyfind bought to use in my collages. Well, I never learn. When I hold this in my hand, I feel this is a world of its own, something which once was the companion of a young girl or a woman and I cannot tear it to pieces.



Miss Leah Jodd must have been obsessed with the number 568, it's written all over in the book. Was it her darling's telephone number?
Nice to see, that her child later has used this book for some scribbles.


Time has turned this book into a work of art.

And it's also filled with so much usefull informations like how to write a letter, antidotes for poison, health hints, safety rules for pedestrians, Etiquette, even golden rules of sociability:
"Do you best and rejoice with him who can do better."
"Thank God for every uplifting wave..."
I love it! Miss Leah Jodd, wherever you are now, it's in good hands. ;)

Wild nights! Another Collage Mini Book

It all started with an owl, a baby and a Emily Dickinson poem.



It took many hours of music, tea and joyful relaxation to do this. And it really made me happy.
